Privacy

Privacy is part of the product, not a feature tier.

Our Life Pack is meant to hold some of the most personal things you own. These are the principles it is being built on.

Our Life Pack is in development. This page describes our product principles while the app is in development. It is not a privacy policy. A draft framework is available at Privacy Policy (draft).

  1. Private by default

Every new Life Pack and every new photo starts private. Face grouping is private. Exact locations are private unless you choose to share them.

  2. Sharing is explicit

You decide exactly what is shared — one item, a selection, or a whole Life Pack — and with whom. Appearing in a photo, being listed as a participant, or sharing a family plan never grants access by itself.

  3. Local-first media

Your photos and videos stay on your device by default. Our Life Pack keeps track of them without needing to upload them.

  4. Cloud backup is optional

Cloud media backup is available on some paid plans, and you choose what to back up. It is never required to use Life Packs.

  5. Account information syncs separately

Account details and Life Pack information — titles, notes, people, places, and sharing settings — may sync across your devices even when your media stays local.

  6. Basic privacy is never paywalled

Private-by-default sharing, revoking links, app lock, hiding Life Packs, quieting painful memories, exporting your data, and deleting your account are included on every plan.

  7. Not for advertising

Your private photos, videos, voice memories, Life Pack text, faces, exact locations, and contacts are never used for advertising or ad targeting. The Free plan may show light ads on low-sensitivity screens — never inside private Life Packs or shared pages.

  8. AI stays under your control

AI suggests; you decide. It will not delete media, publish anything, change who has access, or reorganize a Life Pack without you. On-device processing is preferred where practical.

  9. Your data is portable

You should be able to take your Life Packs with you — human-readable exports like PDF and original files, and machine-readable exports like ZIP and JSON.

  10. You can delete

Deleting a Life Pack removes the collection and its access — it does not delete your original photos on your device, or anyone else’s. Account deletion will include a clear process for removing cloud-held data.

Being straightforward

What we are not claiming

  • We do not claim end-to-end encryption. We will only describe it if and when it has been implemented and verified.
  • We do not claim any privacy or security certifications.
  • We can’t promise that screenshots or downloads are impossible. Where we offer download controls, they are best effort.
  • Revoking a share can’t erase copies someone already legitimately saved outside Our Life Pack.
